Qualifications

To qualify for any Houston ISD Foundation grant, you must work for Houston ISD for the 2026-2027 school year and have campus or district approval. For external organizations, you must submit your application via an HISD staff member. Preference will be given to Title I schools. 

General Instructions

• All applications must be submitted through this online system. Paper or emailed application swill not be accepted
• An itemized budget is required. Be sure to include quantities, estimated costs, and shipping
• Funds awarded for this cycle must be spent during the 2026-2027 school year. Any funds unspent by June 30, 2027 will be forfeited

Funding Guidelines

• Minimum award amount: $2,500
• Maximum award amount: $10,000
• Grant must support: academic excellence & priority schools, student opportunity & postsecondary pathways, or educator & leadership development
• Grant funds cannot support: gift cards or cash equivalents, curriculum coaches or certification programs, personnel (salaries or stipends), travel (lodging, per diem, airfare, or mileage reimbursement), sales tax, or alcohol purchases
